Congressional Budget Agreement

The Finance Law sets 15 April as the deadline for finalizing the measures relating to the annual budget decision. Table 12 shows the dates of final adoption of budget decisions for the 1976-GJ2015 fiscal year. During this period, Congress adopted the budget resolution only six times by the deadline, the last of which was in 2003, with the budget resolution for the 2004 financial year. According to the original timetable (before 1986, the deadline was 15 May), Congress adopted the annual budget decision twice, in 1975 and 1976, until the deadline. After the deadline was changed by the Deficit Control Act from 1985 to April 15, Congress finalized the measures relating to the budget resolution four times by the deadline: 1993, 1999, 2000 and 2003.
